"Nature Attack!" Award Winning Ceramic Piece

Hello Lovely's! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but I have been hard at work with college, my crafts, and working! I'd thought I check back in and show off some of the crafts I have been working on

The ceramic piece above is just one of my many pieces I pumped out this last semester in my ceramic class. This "pod" piece won first place in the local college student art show. It stands two feet tall and contains 4 separate pieces. Each piece slides onto a rod that is connected to a wood base! The pieces were high fired and built using pinch and coil hand building techniques.

All were inspired by textures in nature! These textures were feathers, suctions cups on a sea creature, wood stumps and various mushrooms!

Argyle Matching Dog Bowls... HANDMADE!

Hello. I thought I'd show you another one of my ceramic projects from my Fall Semester at college. I made these bowls for my royal and spoiled puppy. They turned out extremely well. One is a water bowl and the other is a food bowl. They are perfectly heavy, so they are extremely durable.

The bowls were pretty complicated to make in the designing stage. Figuring out how to get the perfect curves in the bone was probably the hardest part.

In addition to the actual structure, I applied some green-ware techniques and glazed the piece with some wipe away methods and such.

Peacock Inspired Feather Earrings

Hipsters and feather lovers beware. You might just fall in love!

Well I warned you! I am totally inspired by peacock feathers and I felt I had to make myself a pair of feather earrings! So here they are!

They are made of my chickens very own feathers and some dyed craft feathers. The chain and medal pieces are recycled from old broken pieces of jewelry.

Hope this project spurred some form of creativity for you today!

Dog Collars, Made Completely by Hand!

Welcome back! I thought I might share a project that I have found success in. Welcome to my line of handmade, sturdy dog collars!

They are made completely by hand. Heavy duty buckles, medal D rings, adjustable for bigger or smaller pups. The whole deal!

They were extremely fun to make and I was able to sell a few to people who were interested!

During the photo shoot, my Puppy was interested in the treats... so she let her self have a one, or three!
